A Camp: Colonia
Nina Persson sheds her band the Cardigans, and suddenly her music feels as if it’s gained an extra layer. (Chew on that stupid pun for a while.) It’s more substantial and less flighty. Persson’s solo project, A Camp, sounds more alternative than pop. The songs are still catchy; the second time I listened to it (weeks after my first spin), almost all of the songs sounded familiar. It’s one of those albums where you can hear 30 seconds of each song and be pretty sure whether you’ll like the whole thing. Low expectations are easy to satisfy, but I’m satisfied.
